Attorneys: Messages between ‘Cannibal Cop’, wife are privilege
Defense attorneys for accused “Cannibal Cop” Gilberto Valle say that online messages exchanged between the former NYC police officer and his wife just after she found disturbing images on his computer are privileged, according to the New York Daily News.
In court papers released Wednesday, the defense team asked the court to prevent prosecutors from introducing the messages at trial next week.
Valle is charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping and illegally accessing the federal National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database as part of his plots to kill, cook, and eat women.
