VERDICT WATCH: Jurors enter 4th day deliberating loud-music trial

Watch the live stream here

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Jurors deciding the fate of a Florida man charged with fatally shooting a teen after an argument over loud music are entering their fourth day of deliberations, seemingly stuck on whether to convict on some counts but not others.

The 12 sequestered jurors were returning Saturday to continue deliberations. As of Friday, they had deliberated for 22 hours over three days.

Michael Dunn is charged with first-degree murder for fatally shooting 17-year-old Jordan Davis outside a Jacksonville convenience store in 2012. Dunn claims he shot the Marietta, Ga., teen in self-defense. But prosecutors told jurors Dunn shot the teen because he felt disrespected by Davis during an argument over loud music.

On Friday, jurors asked if they could convict on some counts but not others. The judge said they could.

I’m so worried there last question really has me scared they might believe his story

Pete Creager says:

The jury didn’t belive the state or the police. No conviction on first degree murder. 0-2 for Corey in big time cases

RainBo7 says:

“How can we protest the fraud of corporations, the victimization of racial prejudice, the abuse of sexual promiscuity or the lies of politics when we repeat the same sins in microcosm? God’s clean up begins at home. He calls us to a standard not based on the vote of the majority or the clamoring of the minority. He asks us to reflect holiness His holiness. There is no compromise here. It is not a democracy.

We are a nation that has abandoned God. And God has a very keen memory. Ask the Assyrians, the Babylonians, the Egyptians and the Israelites. God’s hand is heavy on those who refuse to obey. Pray with me that we will not feel this heavy hand, that we will return to the house of the Lord with repentance and rebuild His standards. The cup of wrath is filling up.”
This is what it all boils down to folks and have a Blessed day.

Pete Creager says:

There is a time and place for proselytizing. This is not one of them.

RainBo7 says:

“When men are disobedient, their sin manifests itself in injustice, self-aggrandizement, victimization of others, willful disregard for compassion and corruption. This sad state is true of both individuals and nations. Breaking God’s law has far reaching consequences not only disrupting spiritual harmony but also destroying the foundations of personal integrity and societal values.
Today we are faced with one example after another of the decline in moral values. From superstars to Supreme Courts, God’s way of living is being trampled in the rush to have personal freedom. But the history of God’s interaction with men shows that law without righteousness is nothing more than the pendulum of opinion. The question of morality is not the question of who has the most votes. It is the question of who is the real Judge. History shows that no society has survived the decline of moral integrity no matter how powerful and educated it was. Sin has only one goal in mind destruction.”

Tisha says:

Pete creager you are the worst type of HOUSE NEGRO…all that self hatred must be really getting to you!!! You simply want Dunn to be innocent because he’s white and Davis is black…for someone who wants us to believe you know what you’re talking about and want to stick to facts…..well here’s a fact….. NO EVIDENCE OF A GUN!! And thats Dunn’s own fault for leaving the scene and not reporting what happened… the police wasn’tooking for one…they responded to a shooting where the shooter had left the scene and none of the witnesses said the boys were shooting!! The defense couldn’t even put up an expert to say Davis was out of the car…because his client lied!! That liar is guilty based off the evidence presented!

Dr G says:

Such personal attacks show your weakness. And what does your opinion make you?

Tisha says:

Dr. G…..personal attacks my behind…..that guy is something else…I take it you paid no attention to the attacks he was tossing around huh…..birds of a feather flock together??

Pete Creager says:

You calling me a House Negro reveals your racism Tisha.

Pete Creager says:

Tisha what you cant seem to understand through your racism is that you can have a gun a nd not shoot it. There were witnesses who sawe the Durango leave the station and go into the adjacent strip shopping center. Thos e witnesses said they saw the occupants get out of the vehicle and were attempting to hide something or stash something. The driver Stornes called his “cousin” to come to the scene before he called 911 for his dead friend. Why? to perhaps tellhim shewere he stashe d the weapon? Maybe ? Maybe not.

The police never investigated the area for days. That establishes reasonable doubt.

It’s clear to me Tisha that your own racism leads you to the conclusion that Dunn is guilty. But hey go ahead believe the word of Stornes, a convicted felon, who was violating his aprole the night of the shooting.

xoxoxoxox Tisha

Pete Creager
House Negro LMBO!!!!

My god is this country in serious trouble, Tisha you must be one of the “1 in 4” who doesn’t know that the earth revolves around the sun

RainBo7 says:

These cases all boil down to this..
“But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day”. Proverbs 4:18
“Righteous – This Hebrew word (sedeq), occurring more than 250 times in the Old Testament, carries the connotation of moral conformity to norm or standard. It is used to describe the judgments of the Judges who were to make decisions on the basis of the truth without partiality. It is applied to all kinds of standards, from weights and measures to ethical conduct. But the real emphasis behind this word is its implication that the ultimate test of righteousness is man’s obedience to the ordinances of God.”

Honora L. says:

Just wondering – why does anyone argue with that racist troll? he’s one of those with a closed mind and no light will get in no matter how hard you try to pry it open. When someone says this case isn’t about race – that everything would be the same if Dunn were black and the kids in the car were white – well, that’s when you know you’re just tryin’ to teach a pig to sing. They have no heart, no soul and no conscience; and they fixate on irrelevant minutia like the locks to distract from the substance of the argument. Let’s see if he’s as flippant & dismissive of the $$ this will cost FL in lost tourism when the reality of the boycott hits; because many who aren’t going to avoid FL to punish it are going to avoid FL out of fear that they’ll cross paths with one of those dead-eyed murdering crackers the state is filled with. Just offer prayers for Lucy and her family, and don’t feed this pathetic troll. He’s just like one of those picnickers in the old-time photos of lynchings; there’s no way you’d be able to touch his heart about this case, because he doesn’t see Jordan as human and never will. And no amount of puffing and blowing n his part can obscure that fact. #justiceforjordan

Pete Creager says:

Jury was deadlocked on the first degree murder charge. I told you so

Pete Creager says:

Honora please do vacation elsewhere. Florida doesn’t need you. Please vacation in Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, New Orleans.
Thanks

Dr G says:

Why is it that no one seems to mention that this incident occurred due to the actions of the victim? But for his actions of instigating this he would be alive today. Like the Martin/Zimmerman case, we are seeing baby and family photos. How about a photo of him yelling and cursing at someone over turning down some music? He should have kept his mouth shut and not act like the bad ass he wasn’t. Dunn was wrong and should have changed his parking spot…. but there are two sides to this story.

Pete Creager says:

Dunn should have changed his parking spot? Why? The kid was a thug as were his friends. Ex: Should the people outside of the courthouse being harassed and shouted down by the New Black Panthers leave the area? NO

I am thinking that the jury is leaning towards not guilty on 4 counts and possibly hung up on the charge of discharging a weapon into a car.

I’m going fishing at Nassau Sound this morning. I pray that by the time I return home this evening I hear that Dunn has been found Not Guilty on all charges. Because I am in a rural area I carry. Thank God for Stand Your Ground Laws and the right of self defense.

To all those who wish to boycott Florida if that happens, so be it. We don’t need your tax dollars. You sound like childish little nutjobs who if they cant get their way are throwing a temper tantrum. Boycotts are ridiculous and doing so would only hurt the small business and the families that own them and have nothing to do with the incident or trial but having said that those who threaten a boycott wil have little impact upon Florida’s economy. There aren’t enought of you who really matter. So please do stay away in the even of a Not Guilty verdict.

Godspeed Michael Dunn NOT GUILTY!

RainBo7 says:

Why could it have not been to the actions of Dunn the victim didn’t own that truck nor was he in the front seat. Why didn’t Dunn go in and inquire to whom owned the truck and then ask the owner if he’d mine going out to turn it down?

Pete Creager says:

Probably because there wer passengers in the seat. Geez!!!!

Pete Creager says:

The Judge has advised the jury that they can reach a verdict on some of the charges and not others. A deadlock or hung jury is in Dunn’s favor.

Primary reasons for jury deadlock acording to legal experts are:
1. A weak case
2, Police Credibility
3. Fairness

Dr G says:

I’d add weak jury….

Pete Creager says:

Unfounded premise.

Pete Creager says:

At 530pm Jury has asked the Judge if they can reach agreement on some of the 5 counts and not others. Possible deadlock. If so then Angela Corey has once again spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on a case whe cannot win.

Meanwhile outside of the courthouse today the New Black Panthers showed up and and as usual were rabble-rousing. Many passerbys are complaining about the profanity and language coming from the NBP. The leader of the NBP was engaged in a heated exchange with a black pastor, Ken Adkins. Adkins correctly said, he sat in the courtroom and listened to the trial and the difference between him and the NBP is hate.

Dr G says:

The NBP have demonstrated that a loose mouth can cause trouble… much like Davis in this case… I suppose those who complained about their language were racists…

Jessica Hensley says:

If this guys walks, I vow to never visit the state of FL again instead of vacationing there every summer. How can anyone feel safe? If I get into an argument with anyone in FL, they obviously have the right to gun me down and swear I was threatening them. Scarry for all residents and visitors. BOYCOTT FLORIDA as tourism is a huge money maker for them.

Pete Creager says:

That’s great news Jessica. I hope that you have the opportunity to keep your vow and we really don’t need YOUR tourist dollars.

At 5pm it looks as the jury may possibly be hung up on a few issues. They have asked to have dinner in the courthouse which indicates a verdict may come later this evening.

Pete Creager says:

Jessica there was no conviction of Michael Dunn in the matter of the first degree murder charges filed in connection tto the death of Jordan Davis.

Please keep your word and vacation elsewhere.

Thank You

Fears says:

I have been able to only watch bits and pieces of the trial but it does seem that the Jax police dept.. did a poor job of securing the crime scene, doing even a cursory search around the shopping center and also did not do a better job with the presentation of the actual shooting clues; the proper explanation of the trajectory of the shots, a better demonstration of the closeness of the two vehicles, etc. Maybe they didn’t do any of that because it became not a search for the truth so much as an exercise in political correctness. Sometimes it seems we attribute too much character and honesty to the police and other authority figures. It’d be nice if all cops were honest, hard working and above reproach but we don’t pay them enough to attract the ‘best and brightest’ many times and we get what we are willing to pay for. And, whether it’s fair or not, it does appear that this State Attorney pursues some cases with a view to the political correctness of the potential outcome rather than the pursuit of justice. I am not one who gives high marks to our judicial system, like many who follow these cases do. I think (as on old retired history teacher) that our pursuit in most criminal cases is dictated not by a search for truth but for many and various reasons, not the least is political. We can only hope that the adversarial system we have developed leads to more “correct” verdicts than we sometimes deserve.

Pete Creager says:

The JSO has serious problems. They are not the most honest, competent or thorough police department. Citizens often complain of the lackadaisical response of the JSO when reporting crimes. Many newly hired officers are on the street and working even before their background checks are completed and some of those have been found to be convicted felons.

Jacksonville Sheriff John Rutherford’s own brother was recently jailed for domestic violence. Of course the charges were dropped.

The States attorneys pffices has serious problems, most pointedly, Angela Corey. She should have been disbarred after her acctions in the George Zimmerman case. The Jax SA and some of its investigators themselves are incompetent and corrupt. The deals Angela Corey made with Tommie Stornes, driver of the Durango involved in the shooting, is a convicted felon on probation, He was violating his probation by being out that eveing but Corey let him off on further charges or even jail time in exchange for his testimony.

Valerie Rao, Chief Meidcal Examiner in Jacksonville, has faced a number of reports and complaints in regard to her mishandling of evidence. shoddy meical practices and bizzare court testimony from a number of people including employees of the medical examiners office. She’s incompetent as hell.

All of this and the fact that the JSO did a shoddy job of securing TWO crime scense, one they never even searched or cordened off, the deceipt of Angela Corey’s office, witnesses who are convicted felons, including the parsing a Gate Store videotape shown to the jury are as much reasonable doubt that could be instilled in a jury.

swinger2 says:

QUESTION, did they ever determine or come to a finding about the rear childproof doors on the Durango? I heard a little of this finding, but not in its entirety. Help!

Pete Creager says:

The police report stated that the childproof locks were not engaged. This means that the driver, Tommie Stornes, a convicted felon, who was violating his probation by being out the night of the shooting was lying.

DPC says:

Police did NOT say the child locks were disengaged. So what he was on probation that RACIST IDIOT Michael “asshole” Dunn should have minded his damn business. STOP! making excuses for that IDIOT. Michael Dunn is GUILTY and I hope he BURN IN HELL!!!

Pete Creager says:

LMBA. You’re absolutely wring. Yes they did in a report. Tommie Stornes said they wer engaged during his testimony. He lied!

Stan says:

Pete Creager’s trolling skills make me miss the old days of the internet.

Pete Creager says:

Poor Stan, when confronted with facts has no debating skills. His agenda is to see Michael Dunn convicted no matter what the facts are. Maybe if Stan lived in the area of the shooting as I do he may just be a little more “enlightened” mehhh…probably not.

Crimebuff says:

i wonder if Pete accepts the fact he is a racist and relishes being one.if the boys were white in that car playing Beatles songs, would Pete feel the same? We know the answer to that…

Pete Creager says:

Too bad that Crimebuff fails to understand that the trial was never about race and there was never any suggestion that Dunn or Davis made any sort of racist remarks. However the prosecution, the media.,the race hustlers, the gun grabbers and left wing loonies repeatedly attempted to introduce race in identifying the race of the victim and the shooter

TR says:

How long does it take to come to the conclusion of Not Guilty …

Pete Creager says:

All those who thought this was a slam dunk case against Dunn were wrong. I pray for a Not Guilty Verdict. However, since the jury didn’t come out with such verdict and didn’t come out with a guilty verdict on day 2 of deliberation for first degree murder I suspect Dunn will face a conviction on manslaughter charges. If such a verdict is reached, Dunn will easily have such conviction overturned on appeal.

If there is justice, the verdict should be not guilty. The Jacksonville PD and Medical Examiner did a completely shoddy investigation and the SA parsed videotape to bolster their case.

Hay Daddy says:

The guy makes my skin crawl. His ‘lawyer’ as well. He said to one witness who has two Master’s degrees, “So, you’re JUST a technician?” A few days ago when the victim’s picture was on a monitor as he was lying dead on a gurney and the ME was testifying Dunn was looking at it and didn’t even flinch. He doesn’t give a rats bottom about that kid.

Pete Creager says:

Perhaps you are unaware of the malfeasance and problems that have occurred over the past few years in the Jacksonville Medical Examiners office. Having a college degree does not indemnify one from shoddy work, errors, mistakes, or malfeasance.

Hay Daddy says:

Of course not but to call a person ‘just’ a technician is rude and uncalled for unless, I guess, a person is a defense lawyer. She has way more education than that bozo and definitely has more of an interest in the truth. She wouldn’t deliberately lie. He would in a heart beat. And, that poor kids father. Dunn didn’t figure it was important for the parents of his victim to know what happened to their son??? He’s been murdered but Dunn lets them suffer even more because it wasn’t important or convenient to him. That’s other-worldly cruel and insensitive. He’d get around to when he had the time, I guess.

Pete Creager says:

Heydaddy, perhaps you also fail to understand that the persons job title is TECHNICIAN!

RainBo7 says:

That is the only raw REAL emotion I’ve seen out of this man during this whole trial.

LadyStClaire says:

And that so called raw emotion was only for himself and, no one else. he is lying his bigoted ass off trying to get away with murdering that child. people like this THING AND FOGEN, MAKE ME SICK!

Pete Creager says:

You should never be allowed to serve on a jury. For obvious reason.

Pete Creager says:

Defendants are instructed by defense attorneys not to react at presentations of evidence. Very smart advice for obvious reasons I don’t think you would understand

Joe says:

Mr. Pete Big Mouth, I would like for you to come up here to the north woods of Wisconsin, sit outside my door and play some loud music. There will be no witnesses.

Pete Creager says:

lmbo…. Boy are you off topic………… another internet wannabe bully. Why would I ever want to come to or ever be seen in Wisconsin?

Pete Creager says:

Let me revise and extend my remarks to Joe.

First, I am sure that the administrators of this website do not condone anonymous death threats or threats of violence.

Secondly, I find it rather ironic that Joe, who is so upset with the shooting of Jordan Daivs and despises Michael Dunn, would call out someone who has never heard of him, never even as much called him the names Davis called Dunn for execution in some back woods hood.

Poor Joe, he has become worse than the a person he most hates.
