George Zimmerman’s defense deposes 14-year-old witness

Defense counsel for George Zimmerman deposed a 14-year old boy this week who overheard the former Neighborhood Watch volunteer fighting with Trayvon Martin shortly before the 17-year-old was fatally shot.

Zimmerman, 29, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of the unarmed African-American teenager last February.

The young witness, who was 13-years-old when he stumbled upon the incident, said he was out walking his dog when he saw a man wearing red laying on the ground and heard screams for help.

The witness, identified only as Witness 14, said he saw only one person. Zimmerman was wearing red while Trayvon was famously wearing a dark hoodie.

Defense attorneys also deposed the Florida Department of Law Enforcement officer that downloaded information off of Trayvon’s cell phone.
