Barista Murder

Judge: Oregon man accused of murdering 21-year-old barista will face trial in 2014

The man accused of murdering a young Barista in Oregon last October will face a trial next spring, a judge decided last Friday.

Jonathan Holt, 25, is accused of kidnapping 21-year-old Whitney Heichel, forcing her to perform oral sex, and then killing her. Heichel’s body was found four days after her Starbucks manager reported that she had not shown up for her shift by a police search party on Larch Mountain, a 40-minute drive from her home.

Holt is charged with aggravated murder, robbery, kidnapping and sodomy.

Trial is set for April 1, 2014.
