Kathleen Savio’s Family want resolution in wrongful dead lawsuit without trial


Step Mother Marcia Savio, half brother Nicholas Savio Photo / AP - M. Spencer GreenJOLIET, Ill. (AP) — The family of Drew Peterson’s third wife has asked a Will County judge to rule in their favor in a wrongful death lawsuit they’ve filed again the imprisoned former police officer.

The Herald-News reports (http://bit.ly/16Sb0mS) that an attorney representing Kathleen Savio’s family made the request on Thursday. The attorney said the judge should rule in the Savios’ favor without a trial. Judge Michael Powers said he would make a decision within 30 days.

The 59-year-old Peterson was convicted in 2012 of killing Savio as they were finalizing a divorce in 2004. Peterson was sentenced in February to 38 years in prison.
