New mugshot of Jessica’s Ridgeway’s alleged killer
Following the court’s determination to try Jessica Ridgeway’s 17-year-old killer as an adult, he was transferred to a new cell in an adult facility where he will be in isolation for the next 52 days awaiting trial.
Austin Sigg will not currently be placed in the general population for his own protection, due both to the high profile nature of his case and the safety concerns associated with having an alleged child killer in with other offenders.
Sigg is accused of — and allegedly confessed to — kidnapping, sexually assaulting and dismembering 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway. He is also accused of attacking a 22-year-old jogger using a rag that “smelled of chemicals.”
Authorities also released a new mugshot which you can see above.
