Jodi Arias: Hell Hath No Fury

Psychotherapist: Arias wasn’t stalking her lover

PHOENIX (AP) – A psychotherapist is testifying in Jodi Arias’ murder trial that the defendant and victim appeared to be in a comfortable relationship and Arias wasn’t stalking him.

Alyce LaViolette (lah-VY’-oh-let) has been testifying for the defense for more than a week, explaining for jurors the nature of relationships in which domestic violence is involved.

Arias faces a potential death sentence if convicted of first-degree murder in the 2008 killing of her lover in his suburban Phoenix home. She says it was self-defense, but prosecutors say she planned the attack on Travis Alexander in a jealous rage.

Arias says Alexander was physically abusive and attacked her on the day of the killing, yet no other evidence at the trial has shown the victim was ever violent.
